Come and discover some recommendations for cliché romance manga! We're used to thinking of the word cliché as negative, but that's not always the case; and that's why I'm bringing you some excellent works to read! Remember that if you know of any other works, please leave them in the comments of this post so everyone can find out about them.
Cliché Romance Manga
Kaichou wa Maid-sama: The poor girl and the rich boy. Many manga have this old premise, but few manage to do what Kaichou wa Maid-sama did.
Ayuzawa Misaki is the student council president of Seika High School, a school that was formerly all-boys and is now co-ed. That is, almost everyone is a boy. And to protect the girls, she fights with the boys every day. On the other hand, she secretly works at a café. What will happen when the most popular boy in her school, Usui Takumi, discovers her secret?
Despite its seemingly simple storyline, the manga is quite the opposite, using an old romance cliché to create an extremely fun and captivating story, with a main character that will make anyone take their hat off to it.

Will you marry me again if you are reborn? A classic romance phrase, however I had never seen it applied so well as in "Will you marry me again if you are reborn?"
Toranosuke fell in love with his maid, Kaoru. For twenty years, they slowly developed their love for each other, thus a Showa couple was born: a clumsy husband and a muscular wife. They spend a lot of time together and begin to converse nostalgically in Toranosuke's hospital room. Gentle memories of a husband and wife deeply in love.
At first glance, the manga seems extremely cliché, and I can't deny that, but you can trust me when I say that's not a bad thing, especially here. The situations experienced by the couple are extremely cliché and predictable, yet you can't help but get emotional.

Lesser-Known Romance Cliché Manga
Honto Yajuu
The cop and the Yakuza. How many works are there in the Romeo and Juliet style, yet I've never read one as good as Honto Yajuu.
Ueda Tomoharu is a police officer at a local koban station. He's quite happy with his job and relatively peaceful life, until everything changes when he runs into a yakuza member: Gotouda Aki, while Ueda is chasing an underwear thief… and suddenly receives a confession! Aki doesn't seem bothered at all about their careers and quickly plunges into a lovey-dovey with the police officer; but Ueda is about to discover just how dangerous it is to date a gangster… in more ways than one!
The Romeo and Juliet cliché is very well constructed here; the characters, even though they are naturally enemies, manage to fall in love, and unlike William Shakespeare's dramatic work, here the comedy stands out, giving the play charm.

Kimi Ni Todoke
The quirky girl and the popular boy. How many manga have we read with this description of the protagonist, yet few manage to captivate, which is the case with Kimi Ni Todoke.
Sawako Kuronuma, nicknamed Sadako by her classmates because of her resemblance to the character from a horror movie, has always been feared and misunderstood because of her appearance; rumors at school say she can see ghosts and curse people. When her idol, the popular Kazehaya, starts talking to her, everything changes. Eventually, she and Kazehaya slowly fall in love, while having to overcome various obstacles in their path.
The cliché here is used very well to serve as a basis for the characters' overcoming challenges, which I can say makes the manga much more interesting and enjoyable to read.

Well folks, that's it for today's post. I sincerely hope you enjoyed the recommendations. Leave your comments and critiques. Until next time.
