This one's for the fans of a good romantic comedy anime! Social media has officially confirmed the 4th season of the anime Rent-A-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) for 2025.
Without much information available, a teaser and promotional image were revealed. Therefore, the first season, produced by TMS Entertainment, premiered in July 2020 on the Super Animeism block of the MBS channel. Its third season premiered in July 2023.
Synopsis of Rent-A-Girlfriend:
Kazuya Kinoshita had his heart broken by Mami Nanami after a brief one-month relationship. Devastated, he resorts to an app to rent a girlfriend and ends up meeting Chizuru Mizuhara, an extremely attractive young woman. During one of their dates, Kazuya receives a call informing him that his grandmother, Nagomi Kinoshita, has fainted and is in the hospital. Without thinking twice, he takes Chizuru to meet her. Upon seeing Kazuya with a girlfriend, his grandmother is overjoyed, believing that he has finally found someone special, something she has always wanted. But to keep her grandmother happy, Chizuru agrees to continue the charade, leading Kazuya to repeatedly rent her to maintain the illusion in front of his family and friends.
Rent-A-Girlfriend is a Japanese manga created by Reiji Miyajima . The Weekly Shōnen Magazine, published by Kodansha , began publishing the series on July 12, 2017.
