Collaboration between Aniplex and CAPCOM
The game's production is the result of a collaboration between Aniplex and CAPCOM , with direct involvement from Shinji Hashimoto , former Square Enix producer and current senior vice president of Aniplex/ForwardWorks Room. According to Hashimoto, although the game presents a unique approach, it "maintains the essence of the franchise," promising to please both veterans and new players.
Furthermore, the mobile approach suggests a strategic experience that departs from the classic survival horror style, which could expand the audience and refresh the saga's universe. In fact, the official channels and website have been live since the announcement, allowing fans to closely follow each update.
Online event and news on the horizon
As the release date is yet to be set, the team will hold an online event on July 10th to reveal more information. Additionally, Resident Evil Requiem (also known as Biohazard Requiem ) will be released on February 27th, 2026 , for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
