Netflix revealed this week through its press website the synopsis for the series based on Resident Evil . Some websites had already circulated the information a few weeks ago.
It has also been suggested that the series should feature an original plot, rather than adapting the stories shown in the games.

The city of Clearfield, Maryland, has long been overshadowed by three seemingly unrelated giants—the Umbrella Corporation, the defunct Greenwood Asylum, and the capital, Washington, D.C. Today, 26 years after the discovery of the T-Virus, the secrets guarded by these three will begin to be revealed with the first signs of contamination.
The Resident Evil series does not yet have a release date.

Finally, despite the information being leaked on the company's official press website, Netflix representatives have not confirmed anything about the series' production, and the synopsis was subsequently removed from the site
