Capcom will end Resident Evil Re: Verse on June 29, 2025. From March 3, the company will remove the game from digital stores, preventing new purchases. The multiplayer title, launched as a Resident Evil Village complement, will be inaccessible after the servers close.

The decision occurs after performance below expected. According to Steam data, the game had a peak of only 2,115 players and recently remained in the two-digit range. In the last 24 hours, only 18 simultaneous users have been recorded.
End of purchases for Resident Evil Re: Verse
Resident Evil Re: Verse was created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise. However, the proposal for combat between iconic characters in knockout matches with up to six players did not win the public.
The title was available for PC (Steam), PlayStation and Xbox, but since its release it has struggled to maintain an active base of players. Despite the initial community support, the game was unable to reverse the low engagement.
With the removal of the store game in March, characters, skins and other additional content will also be discontinued. Premium Pass will continue available until June 29, but with no possibility of refund.
Capcom recommended that players use the benefits acquired before the servers disabled. Thus, after this date, all the content of the game will be inaccessible.
Capcom's official farewell
In a statement, Capcom thanked the players for their support and said the title played their commemorative role. In this way, the company stated that Resident Evil Re: Verse reached a “new turning point” for the franchise, justifying its closing decision.
Despite the justification, the numbers indicate that the game could not maintain relevance within the community. Its life time, just over two years, reflects the difficulty of establishing a solid multiplayer within the resident evil universe.
