Knights of the Zodiac – The Legend of Sanctuary

Those who enjoy Knights of the Zodiac have suffered lately with the mess the series has become, Lost Canvas , the loose film from the Heaven's Prologue , and of course, the hated by many and loved by some Saint Seiya: Omega . In my humble opinion, the 12 Houses will still be in my memory for a long time, marking the childhood of everyone who is my age.

We are introduced in 2014 with the film Knights of the Zodiac: Legend of the Sanctuary, which aims to bring back the lost nostalgia of the 90s, this time completely remade in CGI (computer graphics). Taking advantage of the space, I have problems with some Japanese productions (almost Bollywood). The fact that going to the cinema to see the production up close, I as a fan, I affirm, you don't need to be open-minded to follow the direction this film took.
legend-1

Retelling the first phase of the classic manga of the famous Sanctuary saga, the impact is enormous, especially for the most hardcore fans of the Saint Seiya franchise after the screening of The Legend of Sanctuary. The difficulty of adapting 74 episodes into a film of just over an hour is told in a very different way, while maintaining the nostalgia of the era. The film has a simple story, but what it lacks is the " EMOTION " and " DRAMA " from the main characters, which drives the entire story throughout the 12 houses.

On the other hand, something that will please you is the emphasis on the visuals, settings, armor, and fights, all with slow-motion. A key highlight of the film is the dubbing work of the entire "Dubrasil" team, who brought impeccable work to the film.
legend-2

The Gold Saints received changes – some of them cool, like Leo, Mu, and Aldebaran, and others that made no sense, like Death Mask (looking like Scar from Disney's Lion King). It's a short film, with no time to develop any of the characters we've learned to build up in the past.

Fans of the classic series, The Legend of Sanctuary will unfortunately fall into the World of the Dead (sekishiki meikai há), being yet another film that did not become a legend.
