The Knights of the Zodiac – The legend of the Sanctuary
Those who like Knights of the Zodiac have suffered in recent times with the mess that the series has become, Lost Canvas , the loose film from the sky prologue , and of course, the hated by many and loved by some Saint Seiya: Omega . From my humble point of view, the 12 houses will still be in my memory for a long time, they marked the childhood of everyone who is my age.
We are presented in 2014 with the film Knights of the Zodiac – The Legend of the Sanctuary that has the intuition of bringing back the lost nostalgia of the 90s, this time completely redone in CGI (Computer Graphics). Taking advantage of this space, I have problems with some Japanese productions (Almost Bollywood), the fact of going to the cinema to check out the production up close, as a fan, I say, you don't need to have an open mind to follow the direction this film took.
Retelling the first phase of the classic manga of the famous sanctuary saga, the impact is gigantic, especially for the most hardcore fans of the Knights of the Zodiac franchise when leaving the Legend of the Sanctuary session, the difficulty of adapting 74 episodes into a one-shot film just over an hour long, it is told in a very different way, even while maintaining the nostalgia of the time. The Film has a simple story, but what it lacks is the “ EMOTION ” and “ DRAMA ” on the part of the main characters, which takes the entire story over the course of the 12 houses.
On the other hand, something that will please you is the emphasis on the visuals, scenarios, armor, fights with Slow-Motion. A standout feature of the film is the dubbing work of the entire “Dubrasil” team, who brought impeccable work to the film.
The Golden Knights got changes – some of them cool, Lion, Mu, Aldebaran, and others that made no sense at all, like Death Mask (Looking like Scar from Disney's Lion King). Short film, with no time to develop any of the characters that we learned to create in the past.
Fans of the classic series, The Legend of the Sanctuary will unfortunately fall into the World of the Dead (sekishiki meikai ha), being yet another film that did not become a legend.
