The highly anticipated third season of Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World arrived with a bang, conquering the top spot among isekai anime and dethroning Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.
Even with the season just beginning, Re:Zero has received high praise, surpassing the second part of the second season of Mushoku Tensei on the MyAnimeList website. With an impressive score of 8.96, Re:Zero takes the lead among anime of this genre.
Mushoku Tensei, which has always been a favorite, now occupies second place with a score of 8.65. The first part of the series' second season follows closely behind, with a score of 8.45. This unexpected clash between the giants of isekai is attracting the attention of fans and generating much debate on social media, especially on Twitter.
The premiere episode of the new season of Re:ZERO, released on October 4, 2024, was 90 minutes long, the same length shown at Anime Expo 2024. This third season will be divided into two parts, each with eight episodes. The first part adapts the "Shugeki-hen" (Attack Arc), while the second part, scheduled for February 5, 2025, will cover the "Hangeki-hen" (Counterattack Arc).
Despite intense competition, both Re:Zero and Mushoku Tensei remain pillars of the isekai genre.
