The 18th volume of Shirow Shiratori's “Ryuuou no Oshigoto!” light novel revealed that the main story will conclude in two volumes.

In the release, Shiratori mentioned that the main story will have an end. However, there are still many stories he wants to write and he also intends to create some spin-offs. Shiratori added that he will do his best to write an intense final battle for the main story's conclusion.
Synopsis
The story is about a teenager named Yaichi Kuzuryuu, who happens to be the strongest chess player in history, holding the ultimate title of “Ryuo” (Dragon King). One fateful day, Ai Hinatsuru, an elementary school student with a passion for chess, appears before him stating that he promised to be her master. But was this promise really made? Thus began the relationship of master and disciple between them!
The 14th volume of the light novel series, released in Japan in February 2021, marked the beginning of a new “season” for the plot, in addition to also beginning the last arc of the novel.
Ultimately, the novels inspired an anime adaptation in January 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Kazuki and Kogetaokoge also launched a manga adaptation in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine in October 2015, and finished it in August 2019. Square Enix then published the tenth and final volume of the manga in August 2019.
