Synopsis

The story takes place in Japan after a “Rust Wind” has corroded everything. People live in fear of the rust that consumes cities and life in general. A boy named Bisco Akaboshi, belonging to the despised Mushroom Guardians tribe, embarks on a journey to obtain the “Rust Eater” mushroom – a miracle medicine that purifies all rust – to save his dying master. During his journey, Bisco then meets Miro Nekoyanagi, a handsome young doctor from Imihama, and together they look for a solution to the rust that consumes Miro's beloved older sister.

Therefore, the first season of the anime premiered on January 10, 2022.

Atsushi Ikariya then directed the first season at studio OZ with assistant director Daisuke Mataga. Sadayuki Murai supervised and wrote the scripts for the series. Ai Asari and Ikariya were responsible for character design, while Asari and Norie Igawa served as main animation directors. Yi Hui Zhang was also an animation director. Takeshi Ueda (AA=) and Hinako Tsubakiyama composed the music.

Finally, Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko brand launched the light novels with illustrations by K Akagishi and world art created by mocha in 2018, and will publish the ninth volume from August 10th.
