Nintendo announced on Sunday night (12) that the company's president, Satoru Iwata , July 11, at the age of 55.
The information was given in a letter, published on his official website, indicating that the cause of death was cancer of his bile duct.
Iwata had been battling a tumor. In July 2014, he underwent surgery, which kept him away from his post for six months, preventing him from participating in E3 that same year.
