As we previously announced, the manga Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio (Arpeggio of Blue Steel) will now have an anime adaptation. The second promotional video has already been released on the anime's official website. In the video, Iona refers to herself as a weapon made to obey orders.

The website revealed the first two members:
Kazuyuki Okitsu as Gunzo Chihaya, the captain of the submarine I-401. He has a brilliant mind and is generally cold and calculating, but sometimes you can see him acting his age and worrying or getting angry.
Mai Fuchigami voices Iona, the mental model of the I-401 submarine. Unlike the other Fog Fleets, she appears to have received no orders to exterminate humanity from the ocean. She lets Gunzo board the ship as its captain and obeys his orders. In the story, humanity lost much of its developed territory due to global warming in the first half of the 21st century. Then, the "Fleet of Fog," loaded with super weapons, suddenly appears across the globe. Unable to resist this fleet, humanity was defeated and could no longer travel the seas. 17 years after the devastating naval war, Gunzo Chihaya and his friends somehow command the "Fleet of Fog." The anime is scheduled to premiere on Japanese TV this year.
