Sega Sammy and Index Corporation announced in a statement that Sega Dream Corporation, a recently created subsidiary, will take over the operations of Index Corporation, the company to which Atlus belongs. The purchase was justified by its "excellent track record in designing and developing content for mobile phones," as well as developing games for home consoles, such as the Megami Tensei, Persona, and Etrian Odyssey series.
With the acquisition of Index Corporation, Sega is confident that it will create a cooperation that will allow them to achieve stable profit streams. One part of the plan is to explore and maximize the acquired intellectual properties by making them available in the Pachislot and Pachinko , which are very popular in Japan. The transfer of operations should be completed by November 1st.
