Konami has revealed all the details about Silent Hill F, the new entry in the iconic psychological horror franchise. The title will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with two digital editions and exclusive bonuses. However, the team has ruled out a Nintendo Switch 2 version and has already released the PC system requirements.

The game takes place in a unique setting with strong Japanese inspiration and features an intense narrative and unsettling atmosphere. Pre-orders are now open and guarantee special rewards for early buyers. Furthermore, the game promises good performance even on handheld consoles like the Steam Deck and similar devices.

Unique setting and narrative focus

Silent Hill F will be the first title in the franchise set in rural Japan, with an atmosphere marked by local legends, visual decay, and grotesque floral elements. The protagonist Hinako faces a distorted reality where the past and the supernatural intertwine amidst isolation.

The project brings in new creative collaborators, including Ryūkishi07, an author known for horror visual novels such as Higurashi. The writer's involvement suggests that the focus will be less on action and more on building suspense and narrative. This repositioning seeks to renew the saga's appeal with a denser and more dramatic approach.

Confirmed platforms and notable absences

Silent Hill F will be released exclusively for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The absence of versions for previous-generation consoles, such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, marks a shift in focus to current hardware. Nintendo was also left out, even with the announcement of the Switch 2.

The exclusion of Nintendo's new console raises questions about technical limitations or strategic decisions. However, the developers optimized the game to run well on handhelds like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally, ensuring a quality portable experience even for the most demanding players.

System requirements and PC performance

Konami has released the official PC system requirements for Silent Hill F. The minimum requirements include an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1070 Ti or Radeon RX 5700 graphics card. Expected performance is 30 FPS at 720p resolution with basic settings.

The recommended configuration requires an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500, maintaining 16 GB of RAM, with a GPU equivalent to an RTX 2080 or RX 6800XT. With these specifications, it's possible to play in Full HD at 60 FPS or in 4K using technologies like DLSS. However, in both cases, the use of an SSD is strongly recommended.

Digital editions and additional content

Silent Hill F will be sold in two versions: Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition. The first includes only the base game, while the second adds extra digital content. Among these are a soundtrack with Japanese music, a digital artbook, and a themed skin called Pink Rabbit, which changes the protagonist's appearance.

These extras don't affect gameplay progress, but they serve to deepen immersion and offer aesthetic customization. Players access the additional material within the game by visiting a Hokora, a type of shrine that functions as an interaction point to unlock bonuses and costumes.

Pre-order bonuses and exclusive items

Those who pre-order the game receive three exclusive bonuses. The first is a white school uniform for the protagonist. The second item is the Omamori Peony, a symbolic amulet that players can equip during gameplay. The third is a pack of items containing utilities such as divine water, food, and a first-aid kit.

These bonuses are available in any edition purchased before launch. Players redeem these items in the game's rewards menu, which unlocks progressively as they advance through the story. While not crucial, the items offer occasional advantages early in the campaign.

Purchase process on major platforms

Pre-orders for Silent Hill F are now active on official stores. On PC, players can purchase the game through Steam. Simply access the official page, add it to your cart, and complete the payment. The game will be available for automatic download on the release date.

On Xbox, the process is standard: access the store, search for the title, and complete the purchase. On PlayStation 5, the purchase is made directly through the PS Store, with installation starting automatically when the game is released. The Deluxe version is also available on all these platforms.
