
The Wii U version of the new Super Smash Bros. has a confirmed release date: November 21st in the United States.
According to Nintendo, the game will arrive in stores along with the first collection of Amiibo figures. There will be 12 characters that can be connected to both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of Smash Bros.
The second wave of Amiibos is scheduled for release in December.
Smash for Wii U will feature the same characters, modes, and mechanics as the 3DS version. The difference, besides improved graphics, lies in the stage selection, which will be completely different.
Nintendo also confirmed that 2.8 million units of the portable edition have already been sold worldwide since its launch on October 3rd.
Smash Bros. is a fighting game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It was released in Japan on January 21, 1999, in North America on April 26, 1999, and in Europe on November 19, 1999. It is the first game in the Super Smash Bros. series, followed by Super Smash Bros. Melee for Nintendo GameCube in 2001, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii in 2008, and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, which was released in 2014.
