The anime Snowball Earth had its second season officially announced this Friday (26), right after the airing of the 13th and final episode of the first season. The news was revealed by the series' official channels, accompanied by a new celebratory trailer.

The adaptation premiered in April 2026 on NTV's late-night programming block, while streaming became available on Hulu in Japan. The announcement reinforces the continuity of the story created by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu, originally published as a manga.

Synopsis

The story follows Tetsuo Yabusame, pilot of the giant robot Yukio, who participated in the war against extraterrestrial creatures that invaded Earth in 2025. After a decisive battle, Tetsuo survives and remains in cryogenic sleep for eight years.

Studio KAI continues producing the animation, with Munehisa Sakai, known for his work on Zombie Land Saga and One Piece Film Strong World, directing. Shigeru Murakoshi is responsible for the scripts, while Toshiya Kōno is in charge of character design and animation supervision. TOHO animation is the overall production company .
