Niichi's manga Sometimes Even Reality Is a Lie! ( Genjitsu mo Tamani wa Usowotsuku ) will receive a television anime adaptation in 2027. The announcement was made by the author himself, who also released a commemorative illustration to celebrate the news .

The series began as a dōjinshi in 2018, with chapters published on the social network X. Subsequently, Kadokawa began publishing the collected volumes in 2020. The ninth and final volume is scheduled to be released on September 16, officially concluding the story in print format.

Synopsis

The story follows Kaoru Terasaki, an MMORPG player who finally meets his online adventure partner, Nanami Osaka, in person. However, the situation takes an unexpected turn when Kaoru discovers that Nanami is a girl and, to complicate matters further, he needs to disguise himself as a girl to avoid problems with her extremely protective father. Thus, their time together begins to change the relationship they built in the virtual world.

Niichi originally created Sometimes Even Reality Is a Lie! as an independent project before its official publication by Kadokawa.

Finally, as of now, the TV adaptation is scheduled to premiere in 2027, but details about the studio, production team, and cast have not yet been revealed.
