On August 4th, the production of the anime "Sono Keisatsukan, Tokidoki Yaju" (Policeman But Sometimes Beast) was officially canceled. The team released the news on the series' official website and social media, surprising fans.

The production committee reported that, despite initial plans for a 2025 release, the project had to be halted due to "various circumstances." The team did not reveal the details, but expressed deep regret for the cancellation and offered sincere apologies to the fans and professionals involved.

The anime announcement was made in March 2025

Studio Rabbit Gate announced the anime's production in March of this year. The main cast and part of the technical team were already confirmed, with a planned premiere for the end of 2025.

However, the original work, created by Sigma Toraimanga Teens' Love (TL) published digitally by Comic Seymour under Ichijinsha's LOVEBITES label. The story follows Hiyori, an ordinary office worker recovering from an accident, and Kumano, a police officer with a "beastly" side that gradually reveals itself.

Since its debut in 2019, the manga has gained a legion of fans and has already reached ten published volumes as of April 2025.
