After more than eight years since its original announcement, Kyoto Animation has released the first trailer for the anime Sparks of Tomorrow , an adaptation of Hiro Yuki 's "20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku 2026 premiere date were also confirmed .
The anime stars Kihachi Sakamoto , voiced by Yuma Uchida ( Megumi Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen ), and Inako Momokawa , played by Sora Amamiya ( Chizuru Ichinose in Rent-A-Girlfriend ).

Now, with the project's revival, Minoru Ota takes over as director—his debut as a series director. He's joined by Tatsuhiko Urahata ( Violet Evergarden ) on the script, Kohei Okamura on the designs, and Hitomi Koto on the soundtrack.
Set in an alternate Kyoto in the early 20th century , where steam power dominates technology, the story follows a boy and a girl as they seek to unravel the secret of the mysterious "20th Century Electric Catalogue ," a symbol of the dreams and hopes they once shared.
