The website Myjitsu published an article noting that some fans were unhappy with the most recent episode of the SPY x FAMILY. According to reports, the June 11th episode was criticized for adding several original scenes to manga adapt

Spy x Family faces criticism for its original content

Episode 10, “The Great Dodgeball Plan,” tells the story of a “dodgeball tournament” held during Anya’s school year. Her classmates, led by Anya, who have learned Yor’s secret strategy, are excited to enter the competition. However, Bill Watkins, whose physique doesn’t look much like that of an elementary school child, stands in her way as an enemy, forcing her into a fierce battle.

In addition to the 'Dragon Ball' material, there are also descriptions reminiscent of 'HUNTER x HUNTER'. For example, the scene where Damian positions himself and defends Anya is based on a dodgeball game that Gon and Killua had with Razor. Furthermore, there are parody elements of works like SLAM DUNK, Captain Tsubasa, Kyojin no Hoshi (Star of the Giants), and Samurai Giants. For some reason, many of the works are old, and fans familiar with these original stories seem to be delighted.

Some fans of the original manga also commented: "Can't they just adapt the original story as it is?" Since the original SPY x FAMILY manga is a comedy, but with very few parody elements, some may not accept the sudden change in style added to the original content. To become a successful social phenomenon, it seems important to avoid certain things that only a few can identify.
