Bandai Namco confirmed the release of Super Robot Wars V for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, scheduled for 2017 in Japan.
This is the second special project in celebration of the franchise's 25th anniversary, which began its journey in 1991. Previously, the producer had already announced Super Robot Taisen OG: The Moon Dwellers as part of this nostalgic celebration.
Super Robot Wars V Brand New Chapter of the Classic Franchise
Originally released on April 20, 1991 for Game Boy, Super Robot Wars quickly won fans by joining iconic characters from various mecha anime in tactical battles. Since then, there have been more than 90 titles released - including special editions - adding an impressive 16 million copies sold worldwide.
In addition, the arrival of the game promises to update the fan experience by bringing new characters, unpublished stories and optimized graphics to the new generation of consoles.
Celebration reinforces the legacy of giant robots
While The Moon Dwellers represents the original core of the series, V will make room for unpublished collaborations between famous robots franchises. Therefore, players can expect reunions and epic clashes among their favorite strands.
Because the series has always mixed strategy, action and nostalgia, Super Robot Wars V will certainly be a highlight in 2017.
