Bandai Namco has released a promotional video for the new game in the Sword Art Online saga. Titled Sword Art Online - Lost Song , it is the third game based on the franchise. The story will follow the arc of the light novel "Sword Art Online - ALfheim Online". The release is scheduled for 2015 on both PS3 and PS Vita platforms.
Namco Bandai announced the development of their first game at the Tokyo Game Show 2014 on September 19th.
Sword Art Online (ソードアート・オンライン, Sōdo Āto Onrain?) is a Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. It has been serialized under ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko imprint since April 10, 2009. An eight-volume manga adaptation was published by ASCII Media Works and Kadokawa.
An anime produced by A-1 Pictures aired in Japan between July and December 2012. An extra episode aired on December 31, 2013, and the second season of the anime, titled Sword Art Online II, began airing in 2014. A game based on the series, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, was released for PlayStation Portable in March 2013. The second game, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, was released for PlayStation Vita in April 2014. The novel and three volumes of the manga were licensed by Yen Press.
