The November issue of Kadokawa Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine revealed that the Sword Art Online will receive a new manga that will be released in the next issue of the magazine, more specifically on October 27th .
The adaptation will focus on the Aincrad , and will feature scenes not shown in the anime , such as the meeting with Kopel . Although the premise is similar to that of Sword Art Online: Progressive , the magazine highlighted that the manga is based on the original novel

The Sword Art Online: Progressive novels began publishing in 2012 as a revised version of the original novel. The story describes Kirito's journey through Aincrad's floating castle from the beginning, floor by floor.
It is worth remembering that Sword Art Online: Progressive is inspiring an animated adaptation in film format titled Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night . The film will premiere in Japan on October 30th this year .
