The staff of the anime Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari announced at Crunchyroll Expo that the 2nd season will premiere in 2021.

Furthermore, the virtual panel was attended by composition writer Keigo Koyanagi, character designer Masahiro Suwa and producer Junichiro Tamura.

Check out the trailer and a look at the new season:

Tamura stated on the panel that the staff will try not to have a big gap between the second and third seasons, as fans have waited a long time for the second season.

Synopsis

Iwatani Naofumi was taken to a parallel world along with 3 other people to become the world's Heroes. Each of the heroes when summoned received a legendary outfit given to the Heroes who would save that world. Naofumi received the Legendary Shield, the only defensive equipment, while the others received weapons capable of attacking.

Staff

Misato Jinbo is directing the new season at Kinema Citrus and DR MOVIE, replacing Takao Abo. Keigo Koyanagi is once again in charge of composing the anime. Masahiro Suwa is once again adapting Seira Minami's character design for animation. Kevin Penkin is returning to compose the soundtrack.

Crunchyroll announced last year that the anime would have two more seasons.

Furthermore, the first season aired in 2019, with 25 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

Tate no Yuusha by author Aneko Yusagi began as a novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2012. Media Factory began publishing the light novel with illustrations by Minami Seira in August 2013, with 22 volumes to date.

Finally, the manga adaptation of Aiya Kyu launched in 2014 in Media Factory 's Monthly Comic Flapper , with 16 volumes to date.
