An 18-year-old Japanese teenager was honored by the Kagoshima City Central Fire Department on September 29 after reporting and helping to contain the spread of a house fire.
The teenager, Ouga Kawazu anime for his calm composure and quick wit . Kawazu received a recognition award, and stated that he “ watched an anime series with firefighters ” and was therefore able to deal with the situation calmly.
Kawazu was on his way to a convenience store in Uehonmachi on August 29 when he noticed that a fire had started in the entrance of a two-story wooden house. Kawazu called 119 (the emergency number in Japan) and then rang the doorbell and knocked on the door. It was almost midnight when the owner of the house, an elderly woman in her 70s who lived alone, answered the door. She was about to turn in for the night when Kawazu appeared. She was then able to contain the fire herself.
Although Kawazu did not specifically state which anime he watched, the popular anime Fire Force , by author Atsushi Ohkubo , seems to be the most likely candidate.
