Novel

First, let's start by talking about the novel. It's the novel that started it all, both through the manga and the anime, which are incredibly successful. Fuse shared his journey from web novel to light novel.

Where he basically participated in a novel contest called Narou-con, but which is now called Net Shosetsu Taisho. Anyway, a month before the results were announced, an editor from Micro Magazine contacted Fuse, and that's how the publication began. In fact, the editor remains the same to this day!

Manga and Anime

Regarding the manga, the author mentions having overseen almost everything, from writing the plot, spin-offs, and even answering questions from the team. However, he also mentions that regarding some aspects, he decided to give the team complete freedom.

On the other hand, he oversaw almost the entire anime, especially the scripts. He also tried to ensure all his requests were fulfilled correctly, but some ended up not working out so well. Finally, he commented that he didn't participate in the voice actor selection process voluntarily.

Protagonist and Author's Tip

And when asked about Rimuru, the author of the book, our dear Fuse says that Rimuru is basically his ideal image of a boss! He was once a foreman at a construction company, where he gained a lot of experience. So, based on the relationships he experienced, as well as his practical knowledge of how difficult leadership is, he created our beloved Slime.

Finally, Fuse comments that he doesn't watch that many anime, but he mentions some works that have interested him, such as Gundam, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, and Steins;Gate. He concludes by giving advice to those who dream of becoming writers: "The things you create and write truly shine when you can touch the hearts of your audience. So, whether it's joy, anger, sadness, laughter, fear, etc., a truly moving work is one that can make the reader feel something. I think the most important thing is to discover what you're feeling and do everything you can to create something that will resonate with others. That's what I always keep in mind when I write, so I hope my advice is helpful to you."

Well, folks, that was our special news of the day. I hope you enjoyed it, leave a comment, and see you next time!
