According to issue 50 of Shueisha's "Young Jump" magazine, the highly anticipated second season of the Terra Formars will arrive in April 2016 with the title "Terra Formars - Revenge".
The publication also reveals the team members for the new season, who differ from the team of the first season. Michio Fukuda (Hyakko) is taking over from Hiroshi Hamasaki as director at Liden Films and TYO Animations studios. Cagetzu Aizawa (Rage of Bahamut Genesis sub-character designer) and Atsushi Ikariya (Fate/Zero, Harmonie) are designing the characters, and Naruhisa Arakawa (MAOYU, Kingdom) is handling series composition.
Masanori Shino and Satoshi Kimura served as the main character designer and designer of the other characters for the first season.
Terra Formars is a manga written by Yū Sasuga and illustrated by Kenichi Tachibana. It has been serialized in Young Jump magazine since 2011. JBC Publishing began publishing the manga in Brazil in July 2015. Two OVAs about BUGS-2 were released in 2014, and an animated television series covering the Annex 1 arc also aired in 2014. A spin-off manga titled Terra For Police began serialization in Jump Kai on May 10, 2014.
Currently, a live-action adaptation will be directed by Takashi Miike and is scheduled to premiere on April 29th of next year.
