Sailor Moon Eternal 2nd Movie Ends Leaving Room for a Future Sequel

The second Sailor Moon Eternal film premiered in Japan this Thursday, and something that caught everyone's attention was the fact that the film ends with the famous phrase "To be continued", which means "To be continued".

Oricon posted a video of a stage event held on the day of the film's premiere, during which Kotono Mitsuishi (voice actress for Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon) was asked about the teaser quote. She emphasized that the manga's story has one more arc after the "fourth season," which was adapted by the two current films. She added, "If there is a sequel, I would like it to happen as soon as possible."

The first film was originally scheduled to premiere in Japan on September 11, 2020, but was postponed to January 8, 2021 due to the spread of COVID-19 in Japan. The first Sailor Moon Eternal film reached 9th place at the box office.

Both films released mark 25 years since the franchise last had a work shown in Japanese theaters.
