Currently one of the manga in Japan, the author of Haikyuu!! , who goes by the pseudonym Haruichi Furudate , took a trip to Brazil. During his trip, he interviewed two Brazilian volleyball players: Bárbara Seixas and Fernanda Berti. Before returning to Japan, he also interviewed the duo Evandro Guerra and Bruno Schmidt.
"We're going to use what we discussed with the girls as a concept for the characters' stories; it won't be exactly a personification of the characters. We're here to better understand the environment and write a script richer in detail, " said Haruichi Furudate.
"This is the first time I've been the inspiration for a story. And for it to be a drawing in Japan, it's very special. It's different, it's cool. I'm so thrilled. Often we just work and work and don't realize the reach of our achievements. You forget that the world is watching you and how far your work has come. It's a great source of pride," said Bárbara.
Haikyuu!! is published by Shueisha , and has already had 3 seasons adapted into anime , in addition to films and OVAs.
