The 39th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen is announcing the cast of characters for the new saga of the anime Hajime no Ippo Rising .

-Kohei Kiyasu as Ippo Makunouchi
-Wataru Takagi as Masaru Aoki
The manga by author Jōji Morikawa has two anime adaptations. The first, released in 2000, has 76 episodes, and the second, released in 2009, has 26 episodes (Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger). The series also has an OVA and a special.
Hajime no Ippo: Rising is scheduled to premiere in the Japanese autumn.
