The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store – Trailer reveals the film's theme song

The official website for “The Concierge”, the film based on the manga “The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store” (Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san) by Tsuchika Nishimura, revealed the full trailer and a poster for it on Tuesday (22).

The trailer reveals and showcases the film's theme song, "Gift," by singer-songwriter Myuk, and also reveals more crew members and the film's release date of October 20th.

Yoshimi Itazu (“Pigtails”, Welcome to the Ballroom, key animation on Popin Q) is making his directorial debut with an anime feature film, while Satomi Ooshima (Hataraki Man, Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko, Raven of the Inner Palace) is writing the script and Aniplex.

Synopsis

The manga revolves around a new doorman at a mysterious shop where all the customers are animals. Ultimately, as the doorman, she tries to read her peculiar customers and attempt to make appropriate recommendations.

Nishimura then launched the manga in Shogakukan's Big Comic Zoukan magazine in November 2016 and finished it in 2020 with two volumes. Furthermore, the manga won the Excellence Award at the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs in 2022.

Finally, the author is one of the 13 featured artists in the indie manga anthology Glaeolia 3, which Glacier Bay Books released in July 2022.
