Aniplex announced that the anime The Day I Became a God, the third original anime from Key, will premiere on October 10th.
Before the premiere, a special anime featuring interviews with the main cast, behind-the-scenes footage of the production and studio will air, including commentary from singer Negi Yanagi.

Synopsis
Hina, a girl who awakens as a god, foretells the "end of the world." She then chooses a lonely young man as the companion who will spend her time with her until the end.

Jun Maeda is credited with the original work and screenplay. Yoshiyuki Asai (Charlotte, Fate/Apocrypha) is directing the anime. Na-Ga returns from many other Visual Art's/Key as the original character designer. PA Works is handling the animation.
Manabu Nii is adapting Na-Ga's original design for animation and is also working as chief animation director. MANYO and Jun Maeda are composing the soundtrack. Kurumi Suzuki is the art director. Yukiyo Kajiwara is the director of photography composition. Naomi Nakano is the key color artist. Haruki Suzuki is the 3D director. Ayumu Takahashi is the editor while Satoki Iida is the sound director.
Maeda and Nagi Yanagi are collaborating on the opening theme song “Kimi to Iu Shinwa” and the ending theme song.
Furthermore, Maeda first collaborated with PA Works to develop the anime Angel Beats! in 2010 and again in 2015, the anime Charlotte. Additionally, Maeda is known for writing the visual novels Kanon, Air, Clannad , and Little Busters! for Visual Art's/Key, all of which received anime adaptations.
Finally, Maeda suffers from dilated cardiomyopathy (dilation and weakening of the left ventricle of the heart). He was hospitalized for five months in 2016 and revealed that later that year his condition required a heart transplant. However, he reassures fans by saying that he still has a lot to live for and will write more stories.
