Finally, we can start 2016 on the right foot, as rumors have confirmed that the fighting game The King of Fighters will be getting an anime adaptation. The news came from the new SNK Playmore; the company's CEO, Yutaka Noguchi, said in an interview with Famitsu magazine that he wanted to base The King of Fighters franchise on the Marvel universe, which, it seems, wasn't just a ploy to attract attention.
An anime adaptation is slated for release in China in the first quarter of 2016, later arriving in the Japanese and American markets. A live-action series based on the franchise is also expected, although a release date has not yet been set.
Remember that the franchise inspired 4 episodes titled The King of Fighters: Another Day, released in 2005 and 2006.
