Adachi to Shimamura – Novel to Receive Anime Adaptation

Anna
Hey, my name is Anna, my hobbies are reading manga sometimes, watching series or anime, reading or playing League of Legends, and occasionally...

The official Twitter account of Dengeki Bunko announced on Tuesday that an anime of the yuri light novel Adachi to Shimamura (Adachi and Shimamura) by Hitoma Iruma is in production.

Kadokawa will reveal more information about this project in the future in the Dengeki Bunko magazine and on the magazine's official Twitter account.

The novel revolves around two high school students, Adachi and Shimamura, who spend their time playing table tennis in the school gym, or talking about their favorite TV series or food, while thinking about each other.

Iruma launched the novel series in Dengeki Bunko magazine in 2013 with illustrations by Non. Kadokawa will publish the eighth volume of the novel (seen on the right) on Friday – the first since the seventh volume shipped in 2016.

Mani drew a three-volume manga adaptation on the Gangan Online website from 2016 to 2017. Iruma previously announced on his blog in March that the novels are inspiring a new manga adaptation.

The Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko de Iruma light novel series had nine volumes released from 2009 to 2011, with illustrations by Buriki. The novel inspired a television anime that aired between April and July 2011.

Iruma also wrote the novel Yagate Kimi ni Naru – Saeki Sayaka ni Tsuite, a spinoff of Nio Nakatani's manga Yagate Kimi ni Naru. The novel was released last November, and a second volume will also be released on Friday, the same day as the eighth volume of Adachi to Shimamura.

It was also revealed that Moke Yuzuhara will launch a new manga adaptation in the monthly magazine Comic Dengeki Daioh on May 25th.
