Wada explained that fans want to see their manga adapted into anime as quickly as possible, and Wit Studio can't always meet that demand. Therefore, to address this issue, the studio invested in hiring animators as full-time employees. They hope this will speed up production and allow them to deliver the adaptations more quickly.
"Manga fans really want the anime to be released at a fast pace, and the very tight schedules meant that we couldn't always accommodate them."
Despite the limitations, Wit Studio managed to focus on new projects like Spy x Family . This anime has become one of their biggest hits so far, which is why they've already invested in producing a second season and a movie as well.
“We have our youngest employees in their 20s and our oldest members in their 50s and 60s working on this film. This shows how anime can reach so many people across so many generations because both groups are super passionate about it.”
Furthermore, Wit Studio will continue to invest in original anime such as Great Pretender . According to Wada, these productions are essential for the studio's growth and improvement in the animation field.
“If you’re just adapting manga, the studio doesn’t gain the experience and power of an animation house. It’s through original work that animators, writers, and the staff in general learn to be more creative, but manga adaptations will always be more prevalent for economic reasons.”
