Recently, we had the return of the Manga , which was on hiatus due to the author's health problems. But, after about a month, he's back with everything and started again by making a great reference to a cinema classic.
Jujutsu Manga – Return from Hiatus
Now, who doesn't remember the anime that was by far the biggest hit of 2020? Furthermore, we have news, because on December 24th we will have the premiere of the film called Jujutsu Kaisen 0! But, on the other hand, the work's manga had been on hiatus since the beginning of June due to the author's health problems. However, he has just returned after about a month of rest and is at full strength to bring us the unfolding of the manga.
Therefore, today, August 1st, we will have the official return of the manga with chapter 153. However, it returns not only bringing several new features, but also a great reference to one of the greatest classics of international cinema.
Jujutsu Manga – Reference to a Movie
Therefore, we see in chapter 153, a major reference to Fight Club. This was a book written by Chuck Palahniuk in 1996 and later made into a film that became a worldwide success with the same name as the book. In fact, it is worth highlighting the film that revolves around “two” boys who decide to set up a fight club for men, with strict rules. There, the unfolding of the plot is engaging and brings harsh criticisms/reflections to society. Like rampant consumerism, freedom or your dreams.
Consequently, in the return of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, we see our protagonist and Fushiguro going to a Fight Club that has the same purpose as in the film. Furthermore, one of the characters' speech is the same as in the film: “1st rule of Fight Club: don't talk about Fight Club”. Therefore, the reference that the author makes and his effort to make it clearer becomes increasingly evident.
Conclusion
Anyway, Fight Club is a very complex and absurd film. So, if you haven't watched it, I highly recommend you do so now. But in any case, it is very difficult to know what the author meant with this obvious reference. He may be referring to the pressure he suffered to return to the work, the growing consumerism of his work or he simply saw the film while resting and decided to use this idea for the manga.
In short, I believe that if there is any mystery behind this, only time will tell us. In other words, all we can do is wait patiently for the next chapters to see how the story and the Fight Club that Yuji started attending unfold.
So guys, this was my special post of the day for you and I hope you liked it. If you have any criticism or suggestions, leave them in the comments and see you next time!
