The animated series The Ribbon Hero , inspired by Osamu Tezuka 's classic manga Princess Knight , has released its second official trailer. The video introduces new characters and highlights the theme song "Reborn," performed by the Japanese-Korean group Girls Archives .

The production also confirmed three new cast members. Seiran Kobayashi will voice the character Pine, a friend of the protagonist Sapphire. Koki Uchiyama will play Velvet, an important figure in the religious organization Mitra. Finally, Mayumi Shintani will be Zirco, Sapphire's loyal companion.
The story of The Ribbon Hero
In the story, Sapphire is the princess of the extinct kingdom of Silverland, destroyed by the calamity known as Nergal. After losing everything, she finds refuge in Goldland and tries to rebuild her life. However, the threat returns and puts the new kingdom at risk.
Determined not to lose anyone else, Sapphire wields her sword and decides to defy fate itself. The film presents a modern retelling of Princess Knight, a work created by Osamu Tezuka in 1958 and considered a landmark in the history of manga.
The film is directed by Yuuki Igarashi, known for the "Lop & Ocho" episode of Star Wars: Visions. Character design is by Kei Mochizuki, with collaboration from Mai Yoneyama. The soundtrack features Satoru Kosaki and Ryuichi Takada, both from studio MONACA.
The film will premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 8, 2026.Additionally, the film will be part of the special program at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, held in France.
