Free! The Final Stroke opens in Japan

The second part of the film Free! The Final Stroke hit theaters in Japan this Friday (22). The production marks the end of the franchise , which is inspired by a light novel and has numerous films, as well as an anime series. The film does not yet have a release date in Brazil, but the three seasons of the anime are available on Crunchyroll .

The film follows the events of the third season and focuses primarily on the character Haruka Nanase, who enters an international competition. Kyoto Animation is the studio responsible for the franchise and has adapted other successful works, such as Violet Evergarden,  A Silent Voice , and K-ON!. The first part of Free! The Final Stroke premiered in September 2021, directed by Eisaku Kawanami. Futoshi Nishiya designed the characters.

Synopsis:

The Free! franchise follows five high school students who share a passion for swimming. In the film Free! The Final Stroke, Haruka Nanase enters a world competition, but the pursuit of the title pushes him to the limits of his physical and mental capabilities. Haruka struggles to understand what swimming means to him while reflecting on his greatest rival, Alberto.
