With the announcement that animation filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki not retire after the film The Wind Rises, Matt Groening and his team took advantage of the latest episode of The Simpsons to pay homage to the Japanese director of Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Ponyo.

You can check out the scene where Homer encounters everything from the cat bus from My Neighbor Totoro, in the form of the driver Otto, to the moving castle in the shape of the Kwik-E-Mart:

The Simpsons currently airs in Brazil and the US on Sundays on Fox.
