The landscape for anime fans has changed for some studios. Recently, TMS Entertainment took over all productions from its subsidiary, Telecom Animation Film. As a result, the independent studio officially ceases to exist after decades of history.

This decision came after concerning financial reports in March 2025 where the studio accumulated losses of 346 million yen, entering a state of technical insolvency. Therefore, the merger serves to centralize production and settle accumulated debts.

TMS Entertainment

Telecom Animation Film was founded in 1975 and has marked generations with works such as Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro or the recent Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro. In addition, the studio has worked on important titles such as Blue Box and The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse.

However, the brand is now becoming part of TMS's direct catalog, strategically aimed at reducing operational costs and ensuring greater control over the production schedules of new anime. Finally, the name that appeared in the credits of great classics is now saying goodbye to the market.
