To Be Hero X, one of the most talked-about anime of the moment, has come to show that the year can still offer new titles for otaku. With an unusual plot and bold animation, the work could be one of the best of the season.
In episode 1, the suicide of the real Nice opens up space for questions, and the nonchalant reaction of the hero's manager, who immediately thinks of replacing him, is, to say the least, disturbing. During the first episode, especially at the end with the supposed death of Xiao Yueqing, the anime seemed to be going down a dark path, something similar to the story of The Boys, where the heroes are not at all admirable.
In episode 2, released on April 12th, it became clear that Xiao Yueqing, Nice's girlfriend, is not actually dead. Despite this, she is unhappy with her life and no longer wants to be a heroine trapped in a relationship based on public opinion. Determined to follow her own path, she agrees to fake her death and leaves the life she knew behind.

The episode ends with a surprising introduction of yet another villain who, it seems, will be a major problem. The character, called Enlightenment, appeared as a hero ready to expose the romance between Nice and Xiao Yueqing in the first episode.

However, he was humiliated and failed to achieve his goal, which caused the public's trust in him to diminish considerably, affecting his power. Now, consumed by the hatred he feels for Nice, the Enlightenment will succumb to the power stemming from people's fear, transforming itself into a villain.
To Be Hero X has a storyline and animation that are surprising
If you're looking for an anime that stands out from the crowd, To Be Hero X might surprise you. Right from the start, we're thrown into a narrative that differs from other works, where the powers of heroes and villains are based on the audience's trust or fear.
In other words, we can say that it's a universe where anyone can be a hero, as long as they are trusted too much. Even so, it's a flawed world, where profit is valued above life and heroes are nothing more than figures for advertising.

Beyond the intriguing plot, the anime delivers bold and interesting animation, where Studio BeDream alternates between 2D and 3D styles at specific moments. The fight scenes are fluid and dynamic, with vibrant colors and effects that make the moments even more exciting.
To Be Hero X is still in its early stages, but it has everything it takes to be one of the best anime of the season, especially if it follows a dark narrative with mysteries and plot twists.
