To Be Hero X is becoming increasingly exciting and unpredictable. In episode 6, released on May 11th, Yang Cheng takes on the role of the new E-Soul and becomes famous among young people. However, the first E-Soul isn't too happy with his rise. Furthermore, Pomelinho's kidnappers claim that Yang Cheng was responsible for hiring them, causing a stir among the audience.

For those who were confused by the change of protagonist in the last episode, or didn't understand whether Yang Cheng's story comes before or after Nice's arc, it's worth remembering that the structure of To Be Hero X is a little different from the traditional model. Although each arc features a different character, there is a connection between the events that will become clear at the end of the narrative.
The first four episodes present the story of Nice, or rather, the young Lin Ling. Episodes 5, 6, and 7 are about E-Soul. The following episodes will introduce the other heroes who make up the top ten strongest. As for the time period in which Yang Cheng's story takes place, it's noticeable that it occurs before the Nice arc. In fact, there are some elements in episode 6 that demonstrate this, such as the Em Riste statue, which remains standing in the heroes' square, and even the Enlightenment, which is not yet a villain.
The rise of Yang Cheng as the new E-Soul
After saving Pomelinho, Yang Cheng manifests the powers of E-Soul. However, this event bothers the "real" E-Soul, as the audience begins to prefer Yang Cheng. The young man has points in his favor, one of which is not wearing the helmet at certain times, since this brings him closer to people. Furthermore, as mentioned in the episode, he has contagious energy and is seen as a cheerful person, which makes the audience, especially children, prefer him.
At one point in the episode, Yang Cheng is accused of hiring Pomelinho's kidnappers. The two men involved claim that the young man hired them in order to later rescue the boy and become a hero. However, Xiang Chao, who begins to manage Yang Cheng, obtains proof of the moment the kidnappers were hired through a phone call, which shows that they had no personal contact with anyone; in other words, the person who hired them is still unknown.
Furthermore, Xiang Chao calls upon the Enlightenment figure, who is still a hero, to investigate the connection. In the end, with the evidence and investigations presented, they drop the charges against Yang Cheng. The episode has little action, but it makes up for it with an interesting plot and an unexpected ending.
Episode 6 of To Be Hero X delivers a surprising ending
The surprising endings of To Be Hero X are already a trademark of the series. The end of episode 6 shows a previously unknown man killing Xiang Chao. The murder occurs near Yang Cheng and Xia Qing. However, the hero is unable to arrive in time to prevent his friend's death.
There are two points that stand out in the scene. First, the man responsible for the murder, who is wearing a mask and a cap, has hair very similar to one of Pomelinho's kidnappers. Second, at the moment the assassin shoots Xiang Chao, the young man is wearing the mask of the new E-Soul, that is, Yang Cheng. Therefore, it is likely that the target was actually the hero.
Furthermore, another highlight of the episode is the aura of the real E-Soul. He has an introverted demeanor and never removes his helmet, which makes him an extremely mysterious character.
The anime still has a lot to explore. However, the E-Soul arc ends in the next episode, and it's likely that the ending will make a connection to one of the ranked heroes, who, according to the published schedule, will be Lucky Cyan.
