Announced in 2019, the live-action adaptation Junji Ito 's manga Tomie has gained new developments. According to information released by Deadline , Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) will be cast as the series' title character.
The series will feature episodes under 10 minutes long, and Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, High Tension) is directing the series. David Leslie (Aquaman, The Conjuring 2) is writing the series. Both are also serving as executive producers, while Hiroki Shirota is co-producing.
Synopsis: The story of what happens when a beautiful high school girl disappears and pieces of her body are discovered scattered throughout a small town. But what begins as a murder mystery turns into something even more horrific.
Finally, the Tomie series will be released on the streaming service Quibi (short for "quick bites"); the manga has already inspired eight live-action film adaptations and an anime series. ComicsOne published volumes in English in 2005, and Viz Media published the manga in an omnibus volume in 2016.
