Announced in 2019, the live-action adaptation Junji Ito 's manga Tomie has received new updates. According to information released by the Deadline , Adeline Rudolph (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) will play the title character in the series.

The series will feature episodes under 10 minutes long, and Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, High Tension) is directing. David Leslie (Aquaman, The Conjuring 2) is writing the series. Both are also serving as executive producers, while Hiroki Shirota is the co-producer.
Synopsis: The story of what happens when a beautiful high school girl disappears and pieces of her body are discovered scattered around a small town. But what begins as a murder mystery turns into something even more horrific.
Finally, the Tomie series will be on the Quibi (short for "quick bites"). The manga has already inspired eight live-action film adaptations and an anime series. ComicsOne published volumes in English in 2005, and Viz Media published the manga in an omnibus volume in 2016.
