Toonami has already started airing a promo announcing the premiere of One Piece on May 18th, starting at 1 AM. The return of the anime, which is being treated with great importance by both the channel and the distributor FUNimation , responsible for licensing the series in the United States, is helping with the promotion.
The anime will be shown starting from episode 207. The One Piece broadcast will be in HD, but it won't start from the first episode; instead, it will begin with episode 207 (Grand Adventure on the Long Road of the Long Earth!) of the Davy Fight Back arc. According to Toonami , showing the anime from this point is ideal and won't hinder the understanding of the story for those already following it.
FUNimation will also be making all the older episodes of the series available through its website for those who want to relive the nostalgia or better understand the plot. The distributor is also working on special recap episodes that will air later on Toonami.
