Today, we've selected 5 anime that urgently deserve a sequel! It was very difficult to choose just 5, as there are countless works out there that need sequels. In any case, the ones we selected were and still are a success. So, enough of the rambling, let's get to the list:
Anime That Deserves a Sequel — Top 5
05. — Btooom!: First, let's start with this work that was released almost 10 years ago and to this day we have not had any announcement of a 2nd season. But, even so, it was a huge success in 2012, due to its strong scenes and a very impactful story.
Furthermore, the team has plenty of source material to create a new adaptation. However, reports suggest that sales haven't been as high as expected, and even the games based on the work have fallen short. In any case, it's very unlikely we'll see a sequel to this work, so the solution is to read the manga and settle for the first season for now.
4. — Deadman Wonderland: Here we see a slightly older series, having been released in 2011 and having a total of 12 episodes. Furthermore, what most caught my attention about this series is the overall context they created: from the blood-based powers, the prison as a setting, and even the characters with unique personalities.
Ultimately, this work stands out in several ways and is simply sensational. However, being on this list, you might already imagine there's no sign of a new season. In any case, the manga is already finished, and we'd all love to see it animated.
Anime That Deserves a Sequel – Top 3
03. — No Game No Life
And to open our TOP 3, we have this 2014 hit. It brought a completely new dynamic, focused entirely on the diversity of games. Besides, who wouldn't want to live in a world that resolved all conflicts through games?
Intertwined with all this is the greatest duo ever created. There, we see the Kuuhaku who never loses a game, as well as an unparalleled adventure to lead the human race to the top! Definitely an anime that urgently deserves a sequel, but to date, there hasn't been one. However, we did get a movie in 2017, giving us a glimmer of hope that something might be coming.
02. — Noragami
Here we see the great God of Calamity! Noragami came out in full force in 2014, but it didn't stop there, as we got a second season the following year. However, this wonderful series stalled after that, and we never heard of a future sequel.
Either way, they have enough source material to start a new season, but apparently no one is interested. Which is a shame, because following God Yato was truly a unique experience, full of emotion, drama, and plenty of epic scenes.
01. — Berserk
And to close our list today, we have what is considered by many to be the best manga of all time. Furthermore, the final season of this series was recently released in 2017, but it was criticized for its poor animation. Furthermore, the manga's author recently passed away, which leaves the future of the series in doubt.
On the other hand, there's plenty of material for a new animation, as well as a legion of fans who would give anything to see our beloved Guts animated again. But for now, we can only patiently await the future of this work.
Well, that was our list for today, I hope you enjoyed it! By the way, if you know of another work that deserves a new season and wasn't mentioned, leave it in the comments. See you next time!
