TOP 5 – Best anime to watch on Netflix

Rafael Shinzo
Shinzo
My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

While browsing Netflix to choose an anime to watch, I realized that the promising Japanese market is bringing out a variety of anime each year; fans can't deny it, the market is definitely growing. Every year, new titles based on manga and classics from the otaku universe are added to the streaming service.

Initially, to start this top 5, I had to catch up on some anime I wasn't familiar with, such as Aggretsuko , Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan , and even the frantic remake of Devilman .

The excellent Castlevania and the animated film Blame! are not included in the list.

The list below wasn't so simple to make, but I believe that as a 30+ year old otaku I opted for some anime that weren't exactly new.

5. Violet Evergarden

A beautiful production by Kyoto Animation based on the Japanese light novel written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase .

This time, the story is told from the perspective of the eyes of the Automaton Dolls, or Auto Memories, which were created by a scientist known as Dr. Orland to help his blind wife, Mollie, write her novels.

Next, I'd like to remind you that Violet Evergarden has a sequel scheduled to arrive on Netflix soon.

It's one of the anime that became a classic in 2006. The first season, titled Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion , has 25 episodes and is classified as a drama, mecha, military, and sci-fi anime.

The story takes place in the Britannian Empire, which overcame Japanese forces and conquered the country with its robotic weaponry, the Knightmare Frames. In less than a month, Japan lost its freedom and rights and became known as Area 11. Japanese citizens, now called "Elevens," were forced to live in communities, while Britannians lived in first-class areas.

In third place, I'll leave you with this series that made me reflect so much.

Therefore, Death Note comes in second place.

Finally, one of those anime that never goes out of style and is still talked about among otaku around the world. Evangelion is simply a peculiar work about desires, longings for life, apocalypse, doubts and existentialism, and also focused on us human beings.

The main series arrived with 26 episodes created and produced by GAINAX studios and directed by Hideaki Anno .

The series takes place in a Tokyo very different from today, fifteen years after a global cataclysm known as the Second Impact. The main story revolves around Shinji Ikari , a 14-year-old teenager who is recruited by the shadowy organization NERV to pilot a giant bio-machine known as Evangelion in combat against monstrous beings known as Angels.

Therefore, Evangelion deserves to lead this TOP 5 list of the best anime to watch on Netflix.
