Synopsis:
Ushio to Tora centers on the journeys and confrontations of Ushio Aotsuki, who finds himself constantly pursued and accompanied by a colossal, supernatural, and sometimes invisible feline named Tora (Tora = tiger in Japanese). However, Ushio's lineage runs a shrine in Japan where, five centuries ago, his samurai ancestor fought the same creature and imprisoned it against a rock using a cursed spear called the "Beast Spear," which grants power, agility, and resilience to its wielder in exchange for their essence. Ushio inadvertently triggered the opening of the cave in which Tora was imprisoned.
Finally Kazuhiro Fujitawas published in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday between 1990 and 1996. Furthermore, it received two OVA series adaptations and an anime series adaptation, the latter produced by MAPPA and Studio VOLN, which began airing on July 3, 2015 and ended on June 24, 2016.
