Uzaki-chan continues to generate controversy on Twitter

Rafael Shinzo
My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

Since the anime of Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! ), the work continues to generate controversy on Twitter, used as a reference for comments such as "anime for pedophiles." That's why it's not surprising that Uzaki is once again at the center of a controversy of this nature, since these types of people claim that "Hana Uzaki's body is a representation of the sexualization of a minor," simply because they consider her height and breasts to be enormous.

User Stutterbox (@Stutterbox21) posted an update sharing a photo from the anime where Uzaki mentions:

You can hate (whatever you want, but don't despise what another person likes ).

Brazilian Cheatsy (@cheatsykoopa98) posted this edited image of a baby's face placed on a Hana Uzaki cosplayer, adding the following message:

People often say "Uzaki looks like a normal short girl," but when you look at the character, that's exactly what she looks like

Criticism quickly came from fans of the franchise, who criticized the absurdity of the comparison. Furthermore, the cosplayer featured in the image, also from Brazil, complained about her image being used in this way.

The comments follow below:

  • You guys are like, 'I want the characters to be college students,' and then you're in college and you create this fucking editing nightmare.
  • You thought that maybe your projections make you see children when they aren't there. Very pedophilic behavior, actually.
  • Artists who use photos of children saved on their hard drives to create edits and accuse others of being pedophiles. Seems very logical.
  • Why do you have a picture of a real baby in the first place? It bothers me that you downloaded it from someone's profile.
  • And you dare to say that we are the abnormal ones?

Synopsis:

Sakurai Shinichi's only wish is for a little peace and quiet. But Uzaki Hana – his boisterous and well-endowed subordinate – has other plans. All she wants is to hang out and tease him. With the help of her sharp wit and spirited persistence, this might just be the start of a beautiful relationship!

Finally, the first season premiered in 2020 with 12 episodes. Furthermore, the second season premieres this year.
