Junji Ito 's horror manga will be familiar with Uzumaki , one of the author's most renowned stories. However, its anime adaptation has been delayed for several years without a release date. On Saturday (the 22nd), the anime received a new animated clip, showcasing the animation style it may have in the future.

The new clip showcases the Uzumaki characters in black-and-white animation, similar to the manga style, and the dark theme of their story. While there's no confirmed release date, this clip indicates that the anime hasn't been forgotten and is still in production.
Since the adaptation was announced in August 2019, many Junji Ito fans have been waiting for the Uzumaki anime. However, hopes for its release have drastically diminished as the anime continues to be postponed. Therefore, at their Anime Expo Production I.G. executives stated that they are still working on the anime.
Uzumaki will be adapted into a four-episode anime series to air on Adult Swim . Production IG is producing the series. Hiroshi Nagahama will also serve as animation director, Colin Stetson will compose the music, and Uki Satake will voice the protagonist Kirie.
Synopsis:
In the city of Kurozu-chô, Kirie Goshima and her boyfriend, Shuichi Saito, notice strange events happening around them. Due to a mysterious curse, the townspeople are constantly addicted to spiral shapes. This obsession is leading to the death of the citizens, so Kirie and Shuichi attempt to escape the eternal spiral that traps them.
